This is one of the main reasons I bought these headphones, so I can use them wirelessly with my PC. I bought a little Bluetooth USB adapter which is picking up and connecting fine to 2 other cheap Bluetooth earbuds I have lying around.
My PC will pick up the XM3s, but they pair to my PC's Bluetooth categorized under 'Other devices', where other things are like a wifi adapter. So the headphones don't show up as an audio device which renders them pretty useless. The headphones never say 'Bluetooth connected' unlike they do when I successfully pair them with my phone. What can I do?
Edit: Headphones show up as LE_WH-1000XM3 in the Windows Bluetooth settings during and after pairing (under 'Other Devices' after pairing)

Edit 2: If I put the headphones within about a foot of the adapter, they will show up as just WH-1000XM3, as an audio device this time with the headset icon, and I'll click connect and Windows says I'm good to go. But right after that under Audio in the Bluetooth settings it says they are paired, but not connected. I click connect and Windows says 'That didn't work. Make sure your Bluetooth device is still discoverable and try again.'
